Designed to be a soothing visual resting place in a hospital waiting room, the mural is composed of 12″ x 12″ cobalt blue glass tiles with a reflective backing. The texture for the glass lily pads was molded from real leaves using the pate de verre method. The wing pattern on the dragonfly was reproduced from a real insect and screen printed with vitreous enamel on iridized glass.
The tiles are mounted to a 3/4″ plywood board with a mounting rail and security hardware. The modular tile design allows a mural configuration of any size.
