Sauvignon Blanc is an intimate moment between a male and female lover. This sensual sculpture is composed of fused art glass mounted on a black enameled base. Like all Glasscapes, it is illuminated day or night by a light, recessed into the back of the hardwood base, which is reflected off the wall behind.

This lighted sculpture was constructed from a Victorian column (circa 1890 Wickford, RI), Japanese water glass, and hand made rice paper. Many choices of glass are available.

It’s easy to see how the Spanish came to use their word “sierra”—meaning a saw—to describe a mountain range of sharp peaks, as in Sierra Nevada or Sierra Madre. All of the kiln-fired glass pieces—snowy peaks, foothills, trees, moon—of the Sierra glasscape are fully re-arrangeable to create a variety of scenes.

It's that time of year when the hardwoods play catch-up to the evergreen spruce and fir and pine.  A doe watches warily from the edge of the clearing while her fawn runs headlong into the sunlight. This beautiful glasscape is composed of layers of delicately cut art glass fired in a kiln, and in some cases sandblasted.
